Camping at designated sites only - There are a number of shelters along the trail
NO overnight camping permitted in the State Nature Preserves.

Trails have sign-in and sign-out stations that help us know who is on the trail in the event of an emergency. Tracking how much the trail is used also helps us receive funds to keep it useful for years to come.
Please practice Leave-No-Trace while using the trail
Plan ahead and prepare
Travel and camp on durable surfaces
Leave it better than what you found it
Minimize campfire impacts
Respect wildlife
Be considerate of other visitors
Be safe by being Bear-Aware
Do not approach a bear
Remain calm and avoid sudden movements
Give the bear plenty of room
If the bear is not aware of you, make a wide detour around it
If you are spotted by the bear, try to get its attention by waving your arms, clapping your hands and making enough noise to hopefully deter the bear from coming in your direction
Never run, a bear can outrun you , outclimb you and outswim you. Instead, slowly back away
